Preparation instructions

Correct oven settings when using DecarBox:

1. Connect the probe to the thermometer until you feel two clicks when they come into contact. Then place it so that it hangs through the center of the rack inside the oven. Make sure that the metal part of the probe does not touch the rack so that the measurement is not distorted. After placing the probe, close the oven and attach the magnetic thermometer to the door.
2. Preheat the oven to the temperature suitable for activating your mixture (use the table below as a guide).
3. Once the oven is preheated, check the temperature on the thermometer. Make sure that the temperature in the oven matches the setting and your needs.
4. If the temperature on the thermometer is lower or higher than the temperature set on the oven, change the setting to achieve the desired result.

For example, if the oven is set to 121°C and your thermometer reads 130°C, the oven is too hot. In this case, you can compensate for the temperature by lowering the oven temperature to 110°C, and the final temperature on the thermometer will then show the desired 121°C.

Decarboxylation

NOTE: These instructions are suitable for C-D; other temperatures for substances can be found in the table below.

1. Set the oven to 130°C and wait until it is fully preheated. DO NOT EXCEED the recommended temperature.
2. When using flowers or buds, ensure they are heated evenly by rubbing them in your palms into small pieces, which you then pour into your DecarBox. Place other forms of herbs directly into the DecarBox or another baking container.
3. TIP: Place the probe in the DecarBox lid to ensure accurate measurement during decarboxylation.
4. Bake for 30 minutes on the middle rack.
5. After this time, remove the DecarBox from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. This step helps to preserve some important phytonutrients. Your mixture is now ready to use in your MagicalButter herb extractor.

Recipe note

Although 140°C is the ideal temperature for activating C-D, if you want to activate other substances, such as T-C and C-N, you can increase the temperature and cooking time.

However, keep in mind that increasing the temperature/cooking time will activate C-D and C-N, but it may also reduce the effect of previously activated substances.

If you don’t have a DecarBox, use a baking bag or baking paper. Make sure the baking container is the right size and not too big. Bake for 30-40 minutes, stirring the herbs every 10 minutes to ensure they heat evenly.

Once the herbs have darkened to a light to medium brown color and are dry, remove them from the oven and let them cool. They should have a loose texture when handled.

NOTE: Your oven may not have precise temperature settings—this is normal. Most ovens only work on an approximate temperature basis or within a desired temperature range. Therefore, it is essential to calibrate your oven using a thermometer. DO NOT SKIP this step to avoid spoiling your herbs.
