Cannabinoids
What are cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are a group of natural substances contained in the cannabis plant 🌿. The most well-known representatives are CBD and THC, but scientific interest in recent years has focused on other lesser-known cannabinoids such as CBN, CBG, CBC, CBDP and others.
Each cannabinoid has specific properties and can provide different physical and mental health benefits – either on its own or in synergy with other cannabinoids, which is known as the entourage effect.
Cannabinoids affect the endocannabinoid system, which regulates key processes in the body – such as sleep, mood, immune responses, inflammation and pain perception – and each cannabinoid affects these processes in a slightly different way.
The commercial production of cannabinoid products can be carried out by both natural and synthetic methods – the choice of process often depends on the availability of the cannabinoid in the plant and the target use.

CBD Products
CBD (cannabidiol) is the second most abundant cannabinoid in cannabis.
It is non-psychoactive and is often used for its potential anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anxiolytic effects. It can induce a sense of mental balance, help combat stress and anxiety, and promote sleep and recovery.

CBG Products
CBG (cannabigerol) is considered the “mother cannabinoid” from which other cannabinoids such as CBD and THC are formed in the plant.
It can be neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, and is being studied for its effects on the bladder, glaucoma and appetite suppression.
CBN Products
CBN (cannabinol) is produced by the natural aging of THC. At higher doses, it can produce a mild psychoactive effect in some users. This means that it does not produce a narcotic effect, but may have a mildly calming effect.
CBN is best known for its sedative effects, which is why it is most commonly used for difficulty falling asleep and inducing deep relaxation.
H4CBD Products
H4CBD (hexahydrocannabidiol) is a hydrogenated form of CBD, it is produced by adding 4 hydrogen atoms to CBD molecules, so it is created in the lab.
It can cause mild psychoactive effects in some users. H4CBD can produce a more intense feeling of relaxation than CBD, a mild euphoria and promote general psychological well-being.

CBDP Products
CBDP (cannabidiophorol) is a newly identified phytocannabinoid, structurally similar to CBD but with a longer side chain. Commercially available CBDP is produced in the laboratory by isomerisation from a CBD isolate.
CBDP has relaxing and anxiolytic effects, so it could have similar uses to CBD in promoting mental well-being.
CBC Products
Although CBC (cannabichromene) is considered a minor cannabinoid as it is not usually found in concentrations greater than 1% in the plant, it is one of the ‘big six’ cannabinoids that are the subject of intense research.
It is not psychoactive and may promote neurogenesis and contribute to mood regulation. Scientific evidence also points to anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, particularly in combination with other cannabinoids.
CBNO Products
CBNO (cannabinol acetate-O) is a relatively new and not yet well researched cannabinoid that is reported to be up to three times more potent than CBN. It is an acetylated version of CBN and is produced in the laboratory.
CBNO could have the potential to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, help with stress and tension, promote sleep and protect cells from degradation.

CBE Products
CBE (cannabielsoin) does not occur naturally in the cannabis plant, it is only produced when CBD is metabolized in the body.
CBE is believed to have effects similar to CBD, is not psychoactive and could have mainly relaxing effects, anti-inflammatory properties, neuroprotective effects and antioxidant capabilities.
CBT Products
CBT (cannabicitran), also known by the abbreviations CBT(C) and CBTC, is a minor phytocannabinoid. It is believed to form naturally through the cyclization of other cannabinoids, most likely CBC (cannabichromene), due to their close structural similarity. While some reports mention potential formation from THC, current evidence suggests that CBC is the more probable precursor.
Initial studies suggest that it could be beneficial in the treatment of breast cancer or glaucoma.
CBL Products
CBL (cannabicyclol) is a rare cannabinoid. It is naturally produced by the degradation of CBD.
It has no psychoactive effects and current knowledge explores its potential for anti-inflammatory and immune support.

A guide to the most common methods of extracting compounds from cannabis
There’s more work behind every cannabis product than meets the eye. The chosen method of cannabis extraction affects not only which compounds are extracted from the plant, but also what type of product the resulting raw material is best suited for. In this article, we’ll look at the most common methods of cannabis extraction and explain the difference between solvent-based and solvent-free methods.

What is CBE and how is it formed?
More than 150 different cannabinoids have so far been discovered in the cannabis plant, some of which are well known, such as CBD and THC, and others that are still waiting for their time to come. Now, slowly but surely, CBE is coming to the fore – a lesser known but potentially interesting cannabinoid. What is CBE, how is it produced and what are its effects? Find out in this article.
