Design & Features

The Hypnos Zero doesn’t really look like a typical vaping pen, mainly because of the glass mouthpiece. This not only gives it a distinctive look similar to few other vaporizing pens, it is also functional as it helps keep the vapor cool and clean.

At 10 centimetres high, it is as easily portable as any other vaping pen. However, the mouthpiece is always exposed, so you run the risk of it becoming contaminated if handled carelessly. An elegant solution would be a mouthpiece cap.

The Hypnos Zero has a brushed stainless steel surface that gives it a stylish look. This makes Hypnos Zero pleasant to the touch. The stainless steel surface is also more durable than the plastic surface found on smaller vaporizer pens.

Cleaning and maintenance

Atomizer

Remove the mouthpiece and set the Hypnos Zero to maximum power to burn off any residue. To remove more stubborn residue, immerse the ceramic coil in isopropyl alcohol for two hours. Do not immerse the entire atomizer, only the coil. Once the time is up, remove the atomizer and wipe it to make sure it is completely dry before using it again.

Mouthpiece

Dip a cotton swab into isopropyl alcohol and use it to wipe the inside and outside of the glass tube. The filter part should be completely immersed in isopropyl alcohol for up to two hours to clean it.

How to use it

• Remove the mouthpiece from the faucet and expose the ceramic chamber.
• Insert the wax into the chamber and put on the mouthpiece.
• Press the power button five times in a row to turn on the device.
• Press the power button three times to switch between the preset voltage values.
• When heating is complete, hold down the power button and inhale from the mouthpiece.

Voltage setting

Hypnos Zero has four voltage settings ranging from 3.5 V to 4.1 V. These are indicated by a coloured light around the power button. Blue (lowest) | Green | Yellow | Red (highest).

Performance and vapour quality

Vaporizer pen performance: the Hypnos Zero heats up quickly, as you would expect from a vaporizer pen, and never gets too hot, even when vaping for extended periods of time. The auto shut-off feature is a little odd. This is because instead of just shutting off the atomizer, the entire unit shuts off, so you have to do the entire startup sequence again. It’s not extremely annoying, but sometimes it does slow down the vaping session.

Vapour quality

The taste of the vapor from Hypnos Zero is excellent, which is not too surprising. This is because the ceramic chambers always produce a great flavor, and when you add a glass mouthpiece that keeps that flavor cool and clean, you get fantastic vapor quality.

I like the lower voltage setting the best, but the higher setting produces vapor intrusion as well as larger clouds. Since this is a ceramic atomizer, the clouds are not as dense, but ceramic is mostly about flavor anyway. If you want really big clouds, the Dio dual silicon atomizer is available.

Battery power

The Hypnos Zero has a 650mAh battery, which is good enough to last approximately one day of vaping before needing to be charged. Recharging takes one to two hours. That’s average for most vaping pens, so the battery performance isn’t downright disappointing.
