Where to Buy THC Vapes Legally in the UK (and What “Legally” Means)
Where can you buy THC vapes legally in the UK? The short answer
There is no shop in the UK that can legally sell you a vape designed to deliver THC. THC is a Class B controlled drug, so the only lawful routes are (1) a prescription cannabis medicine from a specialist doctor, or (2) consumer cannabinoid products that meet the “exempt product” test – no more than 1 mg of any controlled cannabinoid per container and not designed to administer one. Anything sold as “strong” or “high-THC” in the UK is being sold unlawfully, whatever the website says.

What “legally” actually means for a vape
Under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 a cannabinoid product can only be sold to consumers if it is an “exempt product”. The three conditions are that it is not designed for administering a controlled drug, that the controlled drug cannot be readily recovered from it, and that it contains no more than 1 mg of any controlled cannabinoid per container. The Home Office does not certify products as exempt: it is the seller’s responsibility to be able to show it, normally with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA).
Two things follow from that. First, the honest description of a lawful UK “THC vape” is a CBD or other non-controlled cannabinoid vape with at most trace THC. Second, the widely repeated “under 0.2% THC” figure is not the consumer rule; it is the industrial-hemp cultivation-licence limit. A 1 ml cartridge at 0.2% would contain roughly 2 mg of THC, which is over the 1 mg per container limit.
Route 1: prescription cannabis medicines
Since November 2018, cannabis-based medicines including THC can be prescribed in the UK, but only by a doctor on the GMC Specialist Register, and in practice mostly through private clinics. Prescribed products include oils and vaporised flower supplied by a pharmacy. This is the only lawful way to obtain a product intended to deliver THC in the UK; an online shop, including this one, cannot sell it.
Route 2: consumer cannabinoid vapes that meet the exempt-product test
Retailers that specialise in cannabinoids – online shops and some high-street CBD stores – can lawfully sell vape pens, cartridges and e-liquids based on CBD, CBG, CBN and similar non-controlled cannabinoids, provided each container stays within the 1 mg rule. What separates a careful retailer from a careless one is documentation, not marketing. Before you order, look for:
- Cannabinoid content per container, in milligrams, stated on the listing – not just a percentage.
- A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis available on request, showing total THC (including THCA) per container, and ideally residual solvents and heavy metals for vape products.
- An 18+ age check at the point of sale and no marketing aimed at minors.
- Clear returns and complaints policies and a way to reach a real person by email or chat.
- A rechargeable, refillable device where a whole pen is sold: single-use (disposable) vapes, with or without nicotine, have been banned from sale in the UK since 1 June 2025, and a compliant device needs a rechargeable battery, a refillable container and a replaceable coil.
If a shop cannot show you the COA for the exact batch you are buying, or refuses to say how many milligrams of THC a container holds, buy elsewhere.
What is being sold unlawfully
Social-media sellers, market stalls and overseas websites advertising “high-THC”, “Delta-8”, “THCP”, “THC-O” or “85% THC” cartridges to UK buyers are outside the law. Delta-8 THC, THCP and THC-O are already controlled in the UK through the generic definition of cannabinol derivatives, and the government confirmed in 2025–2026 that it will control the remaining semi-synthetic cannabinoids such as HHC and THCA as Class B as well. Beyond the legal risk, unlabelled cartridges are where the well-documented problems with cutting agents and synthetic cannabinoids come from; our guide to spotting a fake THC vape lists the physical warning signs, and how to avoid counterfeit vape pens covers brand and packaging checks.
Buying from a UK or EU online shop: what to expect
A properly run cannabinoid shop is unremarkable to buy from. You confirm you are 18 or over, the listing tells you the cannabinoid content, you can ask for the COA, and the parcel arrives tracked in plain packaging. Delivery times of two to four working days within the UK are typical; European delivery depends on the destination country and its own rules, which you are responsible for checking before you order. Expect an age check or adult signature on some deliveries.
If you are comparing device formats rather than sellers, see what to look for in a vape and our five-minute guide to reading a COA.
How this applies to THC Vape Stores
We sell to adults aged 18 and over in the UK and selected European countries. Every listing states the cannabinoid content the brand declares, Certificates of Analysis are available on request, and orders are dispatched tracked in plain packaging under the terms in our shipping policy and returns policy. Some products on this site are imported brands whose descriptions quote US standards such as “under 0.3% Delta-9 THC”; that is a US hemp figure, not a UK one, and it does not by itself mean a product is lawful to possess in the UK. Read the cannabinoid content per container, ask us for the COA if you need it, and check the rules where you live before ordering. Product descriptions are supplied by the brands and are not medical advice.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy a THC vape on the high street in the UK?
Only CBD-type products that meet the exempt-product test. No UK shop can lawfully sell a vape intended to deliver THC; that route exists only by prescription.
Is it legal to order THC vapes from abroad?
No. Importing a Class B drug without a Home Office licence is an offence, and parcels can be seized by Border Force. Products lawfully sold in a US state under the 2018 Farm Bill are not automatically lawful in the UK.
What does a legal UK cannabinoid vape contain?
Typically CBD, sometimes with CBG, CBN or terpenes, and no more than 1 mg of THC or any other controlled cannabinoid per container. The milligram content should be on the listing and the COA.
Are disposable cannabinoid vapes legal to buy?
Not since 1 June 2025. The UK single-use vape ban applies to all single-use vapes, including nicotine-free and CBD ones; a compliant device must be rechargeable and refillable with a replaceable coil.
