CBD Pouches Guide UK: What Cannadips Are, Strengths and How to Use Them

What are CBD pouches and how are they used?

CBD pouches are small nicotine-free, tobacco-free pouches you place between your gum and lip for up to 45 minutes. Cannadips tins come in 10 mg per pouch (150 mg per tin of 15), a 5X version at 50 mg per pouch (750 mg per tin) and a THCP variant at 7.5 mg per pouch. One 10 mg pouch equals the Food Standards Agency’s daily guideline amount for CBD from food.

Pouches are a newer way to take CBD that borrows the format of Swedish-style nicotine pouches – without the nicotine or tobacco. They are discreet, need no device and deliver a fixed amount per pouch, which makes them easy to compare. This guide explains how Cannadips pouches work, the strengths and flavours we list, how they differ from nicotine pouches and snus, and the UK rules that apply. It assumes you already know the basics of THC vs CBD.

How a CBD pouch works

  1. Take one pouch from the tin and place it between your upper lip and gum.
  2. Leave it there – no chewing, no swallowing. The brand’s guidance is up to 45 minutes.
  3. Remove and dispose of it in the bin (most tins have a lid compartment for used pouches).

Cannadips describe the CBD as water-dispersible, which is the reason they give for a faster onset than a gummy that has to be digested. Flavour comes from mint, fruit or spice flavourings in a plant-fibre base.

Strengths and flavours we list

Range Per pouch Per tin (15 pouches) Flavours listed Approx. price
Cannadips CBD 10 mg CBD 150 mg Natural Mint, Fresh Wintergreen, Tangy Citrus, Tropical Mango, American Spice £8
Cannadips 5X CBD 50 mg CBD 750 mg Southern Peach, Rebel Red Apple, Fresh Wintergreen 5X £11
Cannadips 5X THCP 7.5 mg THCP 112.5 mg Mint Ice, Banana Runtz, Toasted Coconut £14
Amounts as declared by the brand.

Which strength?

  • 10 mg pouches are the sensible default. One pouch is the whole of the FSA’s 10 mg-a-day precautionary guideline for CBD from food, so most people will not want more than one a day.
  • 5X pouches (50 mg) deliver five times that amount in a single pouch. They are made for experienced CBD users who already take larger amounts; they are not a starting point.
  • THCP pouches are a different product entirely. THCP is a psychoactive cannabinoid that is captured by the UK’s controlled-drugs definition of cannabinoids, and 7.5 mg is a substantial amount given how potent THCP is reported to be. Read what THCP is and our UK legal guide before considering them; do not drive after use.

The UK rules in brief

  • CBD is not a controlled drug, but the finished pouch must contain no more than 1 mg of THC or other controlled cannabinoids per container to be an “exempt product” under the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001.
  • CBD products taken by mouth – including oils held under the tongue – are treated as food in England and Wales, and the FSA’s 10 mg a day advice for healthy adults is the sensible benchmark for pouches too; and it does not recommend CBD for under-18s, people on medication, or anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive.
  • Cannabinoid content is as declared by the brand and a Certificate of Analysis can be requested before you order – see what to check before buying CBD.
  • We sell all pouches to adults 18+ only.

Practical tips

  • Expect some tingling under the lip with mint flavours; it is the flavouring, not the CBD.
  • Do not swallow pouches. If one splits, spit out the contents and rinse.
  • Keep the tin sealed and away from heat so the pouches do not dry out; check the best-before date.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets – the tins look like sweets.

Quick answers

Do CBD pouches contain nicotine or tobacco?

No. Cannadips pouches are nicotine-free and tobacco-free; the base is plant fibre with flavouring and CBD.

How long do you keep a CBD pouch in?

The brand’s guidance is up to 45 minutes. Remove it sooner if you have had enough flavour.

How many CBD pouches can I use a day?

One 10 mg pouch is the FSA’s whole daily guideline amount for CBD from food. The 50 mg 5X pouches are for experienced users only.

Are CBD pouches the same as snus?

No. Snus is a tobacco product and has been banned from sale in the UK since 1992. CBD pouches contain no tobacco.

Are THCP pouches legal in the UK?

THCP falls within the UK’s controlled-drugs definition of cannabinoids. Read our UK legal guide and check the rules where you live; they are not a beginner product.
