How do I choose THC gummies?
Read three numbers before anything else: milligrams per gummy, gummies per pack and which cannabinoid the milligrams refer to. A 10 mg Delta-9 THC gummy is the standard unit; Delta-8 and HHC are milder per milligram so their packs carry higher numbers; THCP is far stronger, so a 5 mg THCP gummy is not a light product. Gummy packaging is designed to look simple, but two packs that both say “1000 mg” can be completely different products: one might hold 100 gummies at 10 mg of Delta-9 THC each, the other ten gummies at 100 mg of Delta-8 each. This guide explains how the labels work, how the four common cannabinoids compare, and how to match a pack to your experience level. Step 1: decode the label
- Total mg is the whole pack. It says nothing about strength per piece until you divide by the count.
- mg per gummy is the number that matters. If it is not printed, divide: 350 mg / 35 gummies = 10 mg each.
- Serving size can be half a gummy. Some brands list “5 mg per serving” on a 10 mg gummy.
- Blends (“D8 + HHC + THCP”, “THCA x D9 x THCP”) quote a combined figure. Unless the split is printed, treat the pack as an experienced-user product.
- Ratios such as 2:1 CBD:THC (for example 20 mg CBD with 10 mg THC) soften the experience and are popular with newer users.

Whatever the tier, the same rule applies: start with half a gummy or less, wait at least two hours before considering more, and do not drive. Edibles are metabolised in the liver into 11-hydroxy-THC, which is why they feel stronger and last longer than a vape – see how long gummies take to kick in.
Step 4: check the paperwork
- Cannabinoid content is stated on each listing as declared by the brand; a Certificate of Analysis (COA) can be requested before you order. Our guide to reading a COA shows what to look for.

- Look for an ingredient list: pectin-based (vegan) or gelatin, sugar or sugar-free, and any allergens.
Prices: what you actually pay per milligram
Price per pack is misleading; compare pence per milligram of the cannabinoid you want. From our current listings, 100 mg Delta-9 packs start at around £12 (roughly 12p per mg), 200-450 mg packs cost £15-£20 (anywhere from about 4p to 10p per mg depending on the count), and 300 mg strain-specific packs are about £30 (10p per mg, reflecting the terpene work). The legal position in one paragraph
In the UK, THC and most of its isomers are controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. A consumer product is only lawful to possess if it meets the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 “exempt product” test (no more than 1 mg of any controlled cannabinoid per container, not readily recoverable and not designed for administering a controlled drug). The Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 separately restricts supply of psychoactive substances. In August 2025 the Home Office also accepted ACMD advice to bring HHC under Class B, and to consult on doing the same for THCA. What is a normal THC gummy dose?
10 mg of Delta-9 THC is the common unit; 2.5-5 mg is a sensible first serving, and many regular users stay at 10-20 mg.
Are Delta-8 gummies weaker than Delta-9?
Milligram for milligram, yes – which is why Delta-8 packs are usually labelled 25 mg per gummy or more. A 25 mg Delta-8 gummy is not a light dose for a beginner.
Is a 5 mg THCP gummy mild?
No. THCP is reported to bind far more strongly than Delta-9, so brands pair a few milligrams with Delta-9 for a full-strength effect. Treat it as an experienced-user product.
Why do two 1000 mg packs cost such different amounts?
Because the cannabinoid, the count and the per-piece dose differ. Always convert to pence per milligram of the compound you actually want.
